A folklore festivity with master-classes in handicrafts, degustation of traditional Russian drinks and treats.

An ample fair of artisans will spread before your eyes as if by magic. The fair town like all Russian settlements has its central square and streets. In the centre of the town you will find a mobile belfry from which you will hear its mellow chime flowing in the air. Besides the streets have «handicraft» names: «Goncharnaya» (Potter Street), «Kuznechnaya» (Blacksmith Street), «Kruzhevnaya»(Lace Street) and others.
The guests of the fair are entertained by actors in traditional Russian costumes. They attract guests shouting out jokes and funny sayings and tell them tales about the fair. Petroushka (a character of Russian folk puppetry) in red trousers plays merry sketches in a performance of the puppet buffoonery show.
And what’s a fair without noble treats! You will be offered traditional Russian dainties. Two colourful lady cooks will invite you to taste traditional Russian pancakes with the most delicious kinds of stuffing. For the guests to have fun and to satisfy their hunger, our fair offers – golden bread, fragrant loafs, aromatic buns, noble pies, buckwheat porridges, Russian cabbage soups cooked in an oven, forest berries, mead, and, of course, traditional Russian drinks cooked according to old recipes!
The hosts of the festivity are Yaroslavl craftsmen: potters, blacksmiths, woodcarvers, masters of weaving from twigs, bast and leather, lace-makers, rag-and-bone persons, masters of painting majolica and ornamented tile. They will make traditional toys and souvenirs just before your eyes. You can either buy them or try to make them yourself!
The craftsmen are ready to share their secrets and teach their trade. So you will have a real hand-made souvenir from Yaroslavl!
